Soon borough residents will be able to experience dine in movies right here on Staten Island. The Atrium owned by Jesse and Gregg Scarola is the first tenant to sign on at Riverside Galleria, a 400 thousand retail complex located
at the foot of the Outerbridge Crossing. As part of the project, the developer, Melohn Properties, will be constructing more than 2000 linear feet of new roads which include turning lanes that will move traffic immediately off Arthur Kill Road and into the center at three separate entrances; the completion of Richmond Valley Road from Arthur Kill Road to the water and two internal roads – all with the goal of keeping traffic moving.
Public amenities include: a waterfront promenade, walkable green roofs, outdoor terraces with waterfront views and a public beach. With adventure-tainment, public open space and sustainability being integral components of the center’s programming and design, Riverside Galleria will be a destination retail center.
James Prendamano, managing director of Casandra Properties, the leasing agents for this project said, “Riverside Galleria will be a destination more than a just a retail center. We are getting away from ‘hot spots,’ with all black-top and above-grade parking; that’s very unattractive. ..We’ve completely deviated from that almost entirely.”
