Mop and Bucket
No office cleaning cupboard is complete without a mop and bucket!
It’s only a matter of time before someone drops their coffee over the kitchen floor, or there’s a bad leak in the bathroom. Having a mop and bucket means you can clear away any such spillages, removing the slip hazard in the process.
Of course, they come in handy for general cleaning purposes too.
Cleaning Towels
Cleaning towels are a handy addition to the office kitchen.
They’re perfect for minor spills that don’t need to be mopped up, but that might still be a slip hazard (or at risk of festering if they’re left alone)!
Having cleaning towels readily available makes it more likely that people will actually clear away the mess. Stay well stocked up on them so any spillages can be cleaned up as soon as they occur.
Dustpan and Brush
Every office has at least one clumsy person, right?!
They may drop their lunch over their desk, break a mug in the kitchen, or accidentally spill freshly shredded paper out in the copy room. Whatever happens, having a dustpan and brush means these minor issues can be cleaned up with less drama.
Vacuum Cleaner
Vacuum cleaners are an essential piece of cleaning equipment for any space- including your office.
The right one for you will depend on the floor-space where you work. Smaller spaces could get away with a hand-held cleaner, for instance, which would be portable and easy to store.
However, you’d want something more industrial-sized for larger office floors. A powerful vacuum should make lighter work of the task.
Dishwashing Detergent
Office kitchens are often a hotbed of dirt, germs, and grime. Yet it’s the sink full of dirty crockery that can cause most problems!
Having some skin-sensitive dishwashing liquid available should help. If worst comes to worst and you have to clean up after people, then it’ll make light work of the task. With a bit of luck, though, it might even persuade people to wash up for themselves!
Computer Monitor Wipes
It doesn’t take long for computer monitors to gather dust!
Unfortunately, wiping them with an ordinary tissue isn’t quite good enough. All you end up doing is pushing the dust around the screen. Try using proper screen wipes instead.
These handy wipes are specially designed for this purpose. They’ll clear the dust away and leave your screen looking pristine in no time.
Trash Bags
Nobody enjoys taking out the trash! However, assuming you can convince someone to do it, you’ll need a new trash bag with which to replace the old.
Keeping your office cleaning cupboard well-stocked with spares means you’re never at risk of running out. Don’t go for the cheapest options though! They’re prone to tear, which is the last thing you want when you’re carrying a bag full of garbage around.
Disposable Latex Gloves
Make sure you have some disposable latex gloves to wear throughout any office clean-up operation.
For one thing, they’ll keep any nasty germs away from your bare skin. That’s good news- especially these days with COVID-19 causing so much trouble.
For another, though, having gloves on means you don’t have to expose your hands to any chemicals you’re using either. Anybody with sensitive skin or who’s averse to handling harsh cleaning products is sure to than you.
All-Purpose Cleaners
All-purpose cleaners should be another essential item on your list of cleaning supplies. Why?
Because they’re so versatile! As their name suggests, these handy sterilizing sprays can be used to clean all manner of different surfaces. From dirty desks to contaminated kitchen counters, when in doubt, get the all-purpose cleaner out!
Air Freshener
Sooner or later, even the largest, airiest, best-ventilated offices end up with bad smells wafting around! It’s just the nature of having people working together in a relatively enclosed space.
All manner of nasty odors can hang in the air on occasion. Of course, cracking a window will help! But having some high-quality air freshener to spray should get rid of stubborn scents that continue to linger.
Cleaning Cart
There’s nothing fun about lugging all of these cleaning products around!
Let’s face it, doing the cleaning’s bad enough. But lugging everything around by hand (and working up even more of a sweat in the process) makes matters even worse.
Consider investing in an office cleaning cart like the best janitorial services do. You can store everything on the trolley and roll it around wherever you go. Even better, your cleaning products will be kept nicely organized and accessible.
Remember This Cleaning Supply List
Cleaning the office is always an essential part of cultivating a safe, happy, and healthy working environment.
Now, though, thanks to COVID-19, keeping our offices germ-free has become something of a national duty! It’s a key way to prevent the spread of infection and stop people from getting sick.
Hopefully, the cleaning supply list in this post will help you assemble all of the supplies and items you need to do exactly that.
