Minthorne Fully Leased

Posted on:

This month Casandra Properties is proud to announce that one of Staten Island’s hottest properties, Minthorne Street, has been fully leased by our very own Nixon McGowan Team.

Filling the 33,000 square feet of Minthorne is just another commercial real estate leasing success for Rob Nixon and Brian McGowan.

Minthorne is a unique property located in Tompkinsville, Staten Island right across the street from the Tompkinsville train station.  Built in the 1800’s, the building spans the entire block of Minthorne Street.  It is owned by The Angiuli Group and once housed The Angiuli car dealership service center.  Now this enormous brick building is being re-imagined by the father and son team of Gary and Sam Angiuli of The Angiuli Group, as a unique retail destination spot for people on and off Staten Island.

With an amazing vision and a large capital investment, the Angiuli’s are literally transforming the entire block.  Their anchor tenant is Flagship Brewing Co., Staten Island’s first micro-brewery. When Flagship opened its doors almost three years ago it became an overnight sensation transforming Minthorne from an old car dealership to one of the best places on Staten Island to gather with friends to enjoy an ice cold beer brewed right on the premises.

Nothing goes better with beer than great barbeque, so it only made sense that Daddy O’s – Staten Island’s award winning barbeque restaurant – would choose Minthorne as the site for their north shore location.

The Angiuli Group retained the Nixon McGowan team to tenant the remaining spaces with a mix that would create a cohesive retail destination. Within months they found the perfect tenants to round out the mix.  O’Henry’s Publik House will occupy more than 2,000 square feet of the building and will serve authentic British fare. For those who might prefer Italian food, they have that covered too. Ryan and Terrance McGinley signed the commercial lease for a 2,500 square foot space which they will transform into a 900-degree brick oven pizzeria.

With so many great food and beverage options located in one place, it could be easy to pack on the pounds.  Rob Nixon and Brian McGowan have the answer.  Last week they finalized the lease for the remaining 5,000 square feet of Minthorne to be transformed into Goal Mine Wellness Center.  Staten Island resident and occupational therapist, Rachel Rusi’s vision is to create a complete wellness experience that will include a juice bar, acupuncture, massage therapy, nutritional counseling services, infra-red sauna, cycling, cardio machines and group classes.

With the ink on the last retail lease dry, The Angiuli Group has begun construction on an elevated park just across the street from Minthorne.  They envision the public green space to be a gathering place where people can enjoy free music and art.

Minthorne is more than just another commercial property it is an idea that came to life.
